La Push

after our amazing hike though the rainforest, we left and drove to La Push. La Push is a community on the Indian reservation with beautiful, natural beaches. it is also famous for being where the Twilight books took place. as you enter the community there is a large sign that says "no vampires beyond this point!". the forest around the community is very thick and looks as though plenty of werewolves could hide out in there :). they obviously took advantage of their fame from the book and almost every hotel and restaurant had a Twilight themed name like "Jacob Black's Inn". we did not go there because of Twilight but to see the beautiful, untamed beaches. we went to "First Beach" first which is the most easily accessible of the beaches. it was fantastic with its enormous rocks, trees, and abundance of driftwood.
we then went to Second Beach (real creative names, huh?) which was a short drive to the trail head. it was then about a 2 mile hike to the beach through the beautiful forest. we saw a group of three teen girls taking selfies in the forest, and we were making fun of them to each other for "Twilighting" which was most likely what they were doing.
since you had to hike to get to the beach there weren't many other people there. there were tents lined up along the forest with people camping but not a ton of people on the actual beach. if we had more time we would have loved to camp on the beach there. it was pretty incredible and I love how wild and natural the beach was.

we didn't make it to Third Beach but if we are ever back in La Push I definitely want to check it out. that was the last beach we went to on our trip and the end of driving on the coast. it was a little sad but I was still super excited for the adventures we had in store.
